We recently had the privilege of showcasing our city in a Full Day’s City, Township and Valley Scene Tour to a few of the conference attendees to the World Deaf and Blind Conference.
After careful discussions and a detailed plan we set off on a glorious winter’s day with the first stop being Durban’s beach. From there we had a surprise visit to the V.N.Naik School for the Deaf and Blind in KwaMashu where our international visitors had the opportunity to interact with some local learners. Next on the agenda was a lunch stop at our favourite Shisanyama haunt – Hlabisa Tavern. A visit to Ohlange School must next before embarking on the picturesque drive through the Valley of a 1000 Hills to a cultural show at PheZulu.
This is a day the Street Scene crew will always remember for some heart felt smiles and warm welcome of appreciation.
